8 Principles of Good User Research
Looking at ethnographic research methods helped provide a framework for Fellows to create a research plan around their problem statement. Fellows needed to come up with a plan for who they were going to recruit from their user group to conduct ethnographic research on, as well as what tools they would need for the observations, and how they were going to record their findings.
Reading examples of conventional research was a good starting point for Fellows to see the difference between conventional methods and ethnographic ones. They were provided with 8 principles of good user research to help guide them when coming up with their plans.
Fellows also learned about taking a research insight to identify and opportunity in order to develop an idea to address a particular pain point.
